A YouTube Livestream (for members)
No cameras, no tech faff. This is not Zoom! This is focused, targeted learning with plenty of engagement opportunities through web-chat, polls and quizzes.
A downloadable practice resource
Each week students receive a learning resource to help consolidate understanding by completing targeted questions.
The Jam Space
Each room provides access to a collaborative board. Students can post questions or examples of their work. It is designed to promote a community spirit. All posts are moderated by John before going live.

Since 2018, I’ve worked in UK secondary schools—starting as a teaching assistant in maths and science, before qualifying as a physics teacher in 2020.

Your monthly subscription gives your household access to one or more Learning Rooms, depending on the plan you choose. Learning Rooms are subject-based and are designed to be shared within the same household.
Each Learning Room includes:
• A 60-minute interactive livestream with John every Wednesday at 11am, with the recording available to watch back anytime.
• A Practice resource to help consolidate understanding and build confidence.
• Access to The Jam Space — a collaborative, teacher-moderated board where students can ask questions, share work, and connect safely with others.
Each Learning Room gives your household access to one subject space.
This means:
• A single student can use multiple Learning Rooms (for example, GCSE Maths and GCSE Physics).
• Different children in the same household can use different Learning Rooms (for example, GCSE Maths and Physics for a 14–16 year old, alongside Primary Maths for a 9–11 year old).
• More than one child in the same age range can share a Learning Room within the same household.
Learning Rooms are intended for immediate household members and are designed to be flexible, good value, and easy to fit around family life.

The Hub Jam is designed for learners who benefit from a calm, structured approach to Maths and Physics, without the pressure of fast-paced or exam-driven teaching.
It is likely to be a good fit if your child:
is home-educated, world-schooling, or flexi-learning
prefers time to properly understand ideas rather than rushing through content
benefits from revisiting core concepts over time
feels anxious, overwhelmed, or disengaged by traditional school-style lessons
enjoys learning in a supportive environment where questions are encouraged
may be studying towards exams or learning simply to build confidence and understanding
The Hub Jam may not be the right fit if:
you are looking for a strict, week-by-week exam timetable
your priority is rapid coverage of a specification
you want intensive exam drilling from the outset
Learning Rooms focus on building understanding, confidence, and curiosity over time. While content aligns with recognised curricula and specifications, learning is not delivered according to a fixed exam-series schedule.
If you’re unsure, you’re very welcome to get in touch and ask questions before joining.
Yes!
Learning Rooms at The Hub Jam are aligned with the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications, but learning is not paced to exam deadlines or delivered as an exam timetable or countdown.
The focus is on developing a strong understanding of core ideas over time. Some families choose to use The Hub Jam alongside formal assessments, while others join purely for learning and confidence. In all cases, the learning experience remains the same.
Curriculum-aligned questions and examples are used within lessons to support understanding, rather than to rehearse exam routines.
No.
The Hub Jam does not offer grade guarantees for SATs or GCSEs. Learning Rooms focus on developing strong understanding, confidence, and curiosity in Maths and Physics over time.
While many learners find that deeper understanding supports improved performance in assessments, grades are influenced by many factors beyond any single learning space. For this reason, The Hub Jam focuses on the quality of learning rather than promising specific outcomes.
New content added weekly
Your child will receive a new recorded lesson, highly focused YouTube livestream, practice materials with solutions, and quizzes.
Join the learning journey in real time
This is not a pre-built course — it’s an interactive learning experience. Each topic is created week-by-week and the content can then be viewed at any time.
Access all lessons as they’re released
Perfect for families who want structured weekly support with room to ask questions, join live, and catch up anytime.
Access to a student community for questions, support, and motivation. Oh, and upload any of your fantastic work!
This structure provides a flexible and supportive learning environment that fits around family plans while keeping students engaged and progressing.
Yes, absolutely! The programme is designed to be flexible. If you join partway through, you’ll get immediate access to all the previous weeks’ recorded lessons, worksheets, and quizzes—so your child can catch up at their own pace.
You’ll also still be able to join the upcoming live sessions and take part in the student community for ongoing support.
Each lesson includes a mix of visual, verbal, and interactive elements—clear explanations, worked examples, independent tasks, and optional participation. Students can watch recordings, pause and rewind, or revisit tasks in their own time.
No. In fact, I don’t use Zoom or cameras! This is distraction free learning via YouTube Live – a safe and highly focused environment. No cameras. No tech faff!
The lessons are designed to be highly engaging, especially for our learners.
Students and parents interact via the dedicated web-chat, or via my quizzes and polls -there are pauses during the lessons to address questions.
There is also a dedicated Jam Space – a collaborative board to share ideas, ask questions, or upload work.
The Jam Space is a teacher-moderated interactive board where learners can ask questions, share ideas, or upload work between lessons.
For primary learners (around Year 6), all posts are made or supported by parents or carers. This ensures the space remains safe, age-appropriate, and closely supervised.
Inside the Jam Space you’ll find:
Teacher-moderated prompts linked to weekly lessons
A space to share questions, ideas, or completed work (optional)
Reminders, tips, and encouragement from the teacher
The Jam Space is optional and designed to support learning without pressure.
All board posts are anonymous and need to be approved by John before they become visible
